Bitcoin and Ethereum Price Forecast Today, 31 October 2026: The Weekend Bounce Is Testing Bitcoin’s 1 Hour Stop. Is It A Bounce Or A Turn?
This Bitcoin and Ethereum price forecast today is a weekend read, because crypto is the one market that does not close.
Forex, gold and silver shut on Friday night. Bitcoin and Ethereum kept trading. And after a sharp drop on Thursday and Friday, both are bouncing this Saturday.
The Direction Sniper panel reads SELL on both, with the 4 hour and the daily both DOWN. But the faster charts have turned UP on the bounce, and on Bitcoin, the bounce has climbed to within about $221 of the 1 hour trailing stop.
So is this a bounce inside the downtrend, or the start of a turn? Here is what the panel shows.
1. The Board: Two Coins, One Direction
| Market | Chart | Entry | Signal time | Targets reached | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | H4 | 79033.27 | 30 Oct 00:00 | 1 of 3 | Running |
| Bitcoin | H1 | 78851.98 | 29 Oct 23:00 | 0 of 3 | Running |
| Ethereum | H4 | 2273.58 | 30 Oct 00:00 | 0 of 3 | Running |
| Chart | Bitcoin | Ethereum |
|---|---|---|
| M15 | UP | UP |
| M30 | UP | UP |
| H1 | DOWN | UP |
| H4 | DOWN | DOWN |
| Daily | DOWN | DOWN |
The 4 hour and the daily read DOWN on both coins, so the direction is SELL. The difference is in the faster charts. On Bitcoin, the 1 hour is still DOWN, so the status reads Sell on H1, H4. On Ethereum, all three entry charts have turned UP, so it reads Sell on H4 only.
2. Bitcoin Technical Analysis Today: The 4 Hour

On the 4 hour chart, Bitcoin peaked near 85,000 on 21 October and started falling. It spent 23 to 28 October chopping between roughly 79,500 and 81,800. Then on 29 and 30 October it broke lower, falling to around 76,400.
The 4 hour sell printed on 30 October at 00:00 at 79033.27, right as that break began. Target 1 at 76418.35 has been reached. Bitcoin has since bounced to 77430.17, about $1,603 below the entry.
- Trailing stop: 81107.99
- Target 1: 76418.35, reached
- Target 2: 73803.43
- Target 3: 71188.51
The chop between 79,500 and 81,800 is the part worth noticing. On a fast chart, every push up in that range looked like it could be the start of a recovery. The daily never turned, and when the range broke, it broke down.
3. The 1 Hour: The Ticket The Bounce Is Testing

The 1 hour sell printed on 29 October at 23:00 at 78851.98, after a spike to almost 82,000 failed and Bitcoin dropped hard. It fell as low as around 76,450 on Friday, but it did not quite reach Target 1 at 75975.89.
Here is the important part. The 1 hour trailing stop has moved down to 77660.54, which is $1,191 in front of the entry. If the stop is moved to that level, this ticket can no longer close at a loss.
But Bitcoin has bounced to 77439.58, so the trailing stop is now only about $221 above price.
- Trailing stop: 77660.54
- Target 1: 75975.89
- Target 2: 73099.80
- Target 3: 70223.70
What the 15 and 30 minute charts say
Both faster charts have turned UP on the weekend bounce, and neither has an open ticket. That is the panel standing aside on the fast charts while the bigger charts stay DOWN.
4. Ethereum Price Forecast Today

Ethereum followed the same path. On the 4 hour chart it had been drifting lower through October, bounced to around 2,390 on 28 October, then dropped hard on 30 October to around 2,200.
The 4 hour sell printed on 30 October at 00:00 at 2273.58. At the time of writing Ethereum was at 2246.66, about $27 below the entry, after bouncing from the low.
- Trailing stop: 2348.03
- Target 1: 2170.13
- Target 2: 2066.68
- Target 3: 1963.24
No target has been reached yet. The 15 minute, 30 minute and 1 hour have all turned UP on the bounce, so Ethereum shows Sell on H4 only. The direction is SELL, but there is no fresh entry on the faster charts today.
5. Bounce Or Turn? How To Tell The Difference
This is the question every weekend bounce asks, and the panel answers it the same way every time.
A bounce turns the fast charts. A turn turns the big ones.
Right now, the 15 and 30 minute have turned UP on both coins, and Ethereum’s 1 hour has joined them. That is a bounce. The 4 hour and the daily, the two charts that decide direction, still read DOWN on both.
For the verdict to change, the 4 hour would have to turn UP. If it did while the daily stayed DOWN, the panel would move to NO TRADE and stand aside. Until then, the direction stays SELL, and the bounce is a pullback inside the trend.
That does not mean the bounce cannot hurt. On Bitcoin, it may well reach the 1 hour trailing stop. If it does, that ticket closes in front of its entry, and the panel waits for the fast charts to turn back DOWN before the next sell.
6. Which Ticket Still Makes Sense Today?
| Ticket | Distance to its stop | Distance to its next target |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin H4 | $3,678 | $3,627 to Target 2 |
| Bitcoin H1 | $221 | $1,464 to Target 1 |
| Ethereum H4 | $101 | $77 to Target 1 |
Distances are from Bitcoin at 77,430 and Ethereum at 2,246.66.
The Bitcoin 1 hour is the ticket to watch. Its trailing stop is close and its first target is far away. But that tight stop is exactly what makes it fragile: a small push higher on the bounce closes it.
The Bitcoin 4 hour has room on both sides, but anyone starting it now would need a stop more than $3,600 away. It is a ticket to manage, not one to start.
Ethereum has no fresh entry on the faster charts, so the panel is waiting.
These are the markets we are watching, not trade recommendations.
7. The Weekend Is Different
Crypto trades all weekend, but most traders do not. Volume is often thinner on Saturdays and Sundays, and thin markets can move further and faster on small orders.
So the weekend is not the time to size up. If anything, it is the time to size down.
8. Same Risk, Very Different Lot Sizes
We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, so on a $10,000 account that is $50, whichever coin and whichever chart.
On many platforms, one lot of Bitcoin is one coin, so a $1 move is $1 per lot. One lot of Ethereum is often one coin too. Contract sizes vary by broker, so check yours.
- Bitcoin 1 hour from today’s price: a $221 stop, so $50 of risk is about 0.23 lots.
- Bitcoin 4 hour from today’s price: a $3,678 stop, so the same $50 is about 0.01 lots.
- Ethereum 4 hour from today’s price: a $101 stop, so $50 of risk is about 0.49 lots.
Same $50 at risk, and the Bitcoin lot sizes are more than 15 times apart. A wider stop does not mean more risk. It means a smaller lot. Work out your own size in seconds with our free Bitcoin and Ethereum Lot Size Calculator.
On a small account, a cent account makes sizes like these possible. For small balances we recommend a RoboForex Cent account or an XM Micro account. These are partner links, so we may receive a commission at no cost to you.
If you are worrying about every trade, your lot size is still too big.
9. What Would Change The Picture
The verdict stays SELL on each coin while its 4 hour and daily both read DOWN.
What would bring the next sell: the bounce running out, and the 15 and 30 minute turning back DOWN to join the bigger charts.
What would change the verdict: the 4 hour turning UP.
Levels to watch, read from the chart:
- Bitcoin: the 1 hour trailing stop at 77660.54, and Friday’s low around 76,400
- Bitcoin: the 79,500 to 81,800 range it broke out of
- Ethereum: Friday’s low around 2,200, and Target 1 at 2170.13
Right Direction, Right Size
Put the board together.
Bitcoin and Ethereum both read SELL on the 4 hour and the daily. Bitcoin’s 4 hour has reached Target 1, and its 1 hour trailing stop already sits $1,191 in front of the entry. The weekend bounce has turned the fast charts UP, but not the charts that decide direction.
That is Direction Sniper:
- Direction. One verdict from the 4 hour and the daily. On both coins today, it reads SELL.
- Rallies and bounces that have not broken structure. Bitcoin’s weekend bounce turned the 15 and 30 minute UP. It has not turned the verdict.
- The stop loss. Every ticket arrives with its stop and three targets marked, and the trailing stop level shows you when a ticket can no longer close at a loss.

Bitcoin and Ethereum Price Forecast Today: Frequently Asked Questions
Updated 31 October 2026. Levels are as shown on the Direction Sniper panel at the time of writing.
1What is the Bitcoin and Ethereum price forecast today, 31 October 2026?+
The Direction Sniper panel reads SELL on both Bitcoin and Ethereum, with the 4 hour and the daily both DOWN.
Bitcoin was around 77430 and Ethereum around 2246.66 at the time of writing, both bouncing after a sharp drop on 29 and 30 October.
2Is the Bitcoin bounce a reversal?+
Not on the panel. The weekend bounce has turned the 15 and 30 minute charts UP, but the 4 hour and the daily, which decide direction, still read DOWN.
A bounce turns the fast charts. A turn turns the big ones. The verdict would only change if the 4 hour turned UP.
3Which Bitcoin targets have been reached?+
The Bitcoin 4 hour sell from 79033.27 reached Target 1 at 76418.35. Target 2 at 73803.43 and Target 3 at 71188.51 are still open.
Price reaching a published target level is not the same as a realised result. It does not describe anyone’s trade.
4Can the Bitcoin 1 hour ticket still close at a loss?+
Not if the stop is moved to the panel’s level. The 1 hour sell entered at 78851.98, and its trailing stop level is now 77660.54, about $1,191 in front of the entry.
The bounce had brought price to within about $221 of that level, so the ticket may close soon, in front of its entry. The trader moves the stop, not the panel.
5Why does Ethereum show Sell on H4 only?+
Ethereum’s 15 minute, 30 minute and 1 hour charts have all turned UP on the bounce, so only the 4 hour has an open sell ticket.
The direction is still SELL, but there is no fresh entry on the faster charts until they turn back DOWN.
6Is it safe to trade crypto on the weekend?+
Crypto trades all weekend, but volume is often thinner on Saturdays and Sundays, so price can move further and faster on small orders.
That is a reason to size down at the weekend, not up. No market or timeframe removes risk.
7What lot size should I use on Bitcoin and Ethereum?+
We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, which is $50 on a $10,000 account. With one lot equal to one coin, a $221 Bitcoin stop is about 0.23 lots and a $3,678 stop is about 0.01 lots.
Use the Bitcoin and Ethereum Lot Size Calculator and check your broker’s contract size. These figures are arithmetic for illustration, not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade.
8Does Direction Sniper move my stop loss for me?+
No. Direction Sniper calculates the trailing stop level and shows it on your chart as the trade develops.
You move the stop on your own order to match it.

Disclaimer: This post reports what the Direction Sniper panel showed on BTCUSD and ETHUSD on 31 October 2026. The tickets were running at the time of writing, and prices will have moved by the time you read this. It is educational analysis, not financial advice and not a trade signal service, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell. Price reaching a published target level is not the same as a realised result. A target shown as reached means price touched that level on the chart, and does not describe anyone’s trade. High and low levels are approximate readings from the chart. Contract sizes and lot sizes are arithmetic for illustration, vary by broker, and are not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade. Cryptocurrency trading carries a high level of risk, and you should only trade money you can afford to lose.
