Bitcoin and Ethereum Price Forecast Today, 24 October 2026: Does Ethereum Always Follow Bitcoin?
Not Today. Six Ethereum Targets Reached
This Bitcoin and Ethereum price forecast today answers a question crypto traders ask every week: does Ethereum always follow Bitcoin?
Most of the time the two coins move together. We have said it in these posts many times: trading both is often one trade taken twice.
Today the Direction Sniper panel shows them split. Bitcoin reads NO TRADE. Its daily chart has turned UP while its 4 hour still points down, so the panel stands aside. Ethereum reads SELL. Every Ethereum timeframe points down, and since Thursday night six Ethereum targets have been reached.
Same weekend, same market, two different verdicts. Here is why, and what it means for anyone trading both.
1. The Trap: Assuming Ethereum Follows Bitcoin
When two coins usually move together, it is easy to stop looking at them separately.
So a trader sees Ethereum falling and sells Bitcoin too, because “they always move together”. Or he sees Bitcoin’s daily chart looking strong and buys Ethereum, expecting it to catch up.
Both trades borrow a verdict from the other coin. And on a day like today, that means trading against the coin’s own bigger picture.
Direction Sniper never borrows. Every coin gets its own verdict, from its own 4 hour and its own daily.
2. Bitcoin: The Daily Turned Up, So The Panel Stands Aside

| Chart | Reads |
|---|---|
| Daily | UP |
| 4 hour | DOWN |
| 1 hour, 30 minute, 15 minute | DOWN |
| Verdict | NO TRADE |
| Status | Stand aside |
Bitcoin’s daily chart turned UP around two days ago. Its 4 hour is still pointing down, with Bitcoin trading around 80,816.
That is a disagreement between the two charts that decide the verdict, so the panel stands aside:
- It will not sell Bitcoin, because that would be selling against a daily chart that points up
- It will not buy Bitcoin either, because the 4 hour has not turned up to agree with the daily
Look at the fast charts in that table. All three read DOWN. A trader watching only a 15 minute chart would see a clean sell. The panel prints no ticket at all, because without a verdict there is nothing to line up with.
Standing aside is a position. It costs nothing, and it keeps you out of a fight between the 4 hour and the daily.
3. Ethereum: Every Timeframe Down, Six Targets Reached

Ethereum is a different story. Its daily still points DOWN, its 4 hour agrees, and the status reads Sell on M15, M30, H1, H4.

| Chart | Entry | Risk | Targets | State |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M15 | 2395.07 (23 Oct 22:15) | 18.48 | 2376.59 reached, 2358.11 reached, 2339.63 | Closed at trailing stop, 7.83 in front of entry |
| M30 | 2394.51 (23 Oct 23:00) | 19.52 | 2374.99 reached, 2355.47 reached, 2335.95 | Running, trail 8.02 in front of entry |
| H1 | 2394.51 (23 Oct 23:00) | 20.00 | 2374.51 reached, 2354.50 reached, 2334.50 | Running, trail still 9.36 behind entry |
| H4 | 2380.66 (22 Oct 20:00) | 132.32 | 2248.34, 2116.01, 1983.69 | Running |
The fast tickets all printed late on 23 October, within a few dollars of each other, around 2395. Ethereum then dipped to around 2351. Two targets each were reached on the 15 minute, 30 minute and 1 hour. Six targets in total.
The 15 minute has already finished. Its trailing level followed the drop down, and when Ethereum bounced, it closed at its trailing stop at 2387.24, which is 7.83 in front of its entry, after two targets. The 30 minute trailing level now sits at 2386.49, also in front of its entry.
The 1 hour is the honest part of the board. Its trailing level has tightened to 2403.87 but still sits 9.36 behind its entry. Two targets reached, and the stop not yet crossed.
The 4 hour sell from 22 October is the big ticket underneath it all. It started with 132.32 of risk, and its trailing level has already tightened to 2417.46, removing about 72 percent of that risk. It still sits 36.80 behind the entry, with price around 2378.6, close to where the ticket began. None of its targets has been reached yet.
4. Last Week Ethereum Looked Weaker. This Week The Charts Split
On 18 October we asked is Ethereum weaker than Bitcoin this week? Both coins had bounced, and every one of Bitcoin’s fast charts had turned up. Ethereum’s 1 hour never did.
Six days later the gap has reached the charts that matter most. Bitcoin’s daily has turned up. Ethereum’s has not.
That is not a prediction about which coin goes where next. It is simply what the two boards show today, and it is why the panel treats them separately: a SELL verdict on one, and NO TRADE on the other.
5. What To Watch
Ethereum:
- The 30 minute trailing stop at 2386.49 and the 1 hour trailing stop at 2403.87 sit closest above price
- The 4 hour trailing stop at 2417.46, the level that would close the main ticket
- The next targets below: 2335.95 on the 30 minute, 2334.50 on the 1 hour, then 2248.34 on the 4 hour
If Ethereum’s 4 hour turned UP while its daily stayed DOWN, its verdict would move to NO TRADE, the same as Bitcoin’s today.
Bitcoin:
- If the 4 hour turns UP to join the daily, the verdict becomes BUY, and the panel starts looking for buy tickets
- If the daily turns back DOWN to join the 4 hour, the verdict becomes SELL again
Until one of those happens, the panel stands aside. Nobody knows which comes first, and the panel does not guess.
6. Two Coins, One Verdict, One Trade
Last week the sizing lesson was that Bitcoin and Ethereum often move together, so taking both is really one trade taken twice. Today the lesson is the other side of the same coin.
Only one of them has a verdict. So there is only one trade on the board, and it gets one normal risk. Do not add a Bitcoin trade “to balance it”, and do not double the Ethereum trade because Bitcoin has nothing to offer.
On most brokers one lot of ETHUSD is one coin, so a $1 move is $1 per lot. Check the contract size in your platform’s Specification window, because it varies. At 0.5 percent of a $10,000 account, which is $50 of risk:
| Ticket | Stop distance | Lot size for $50 of risk |
|---|---|---|
| ETH M30 | 19.52 | about 2.56 lots |
| ETH H1 | 20.00 | about 2.50 lots |
| ETH H4 | 132.32 | about 0.38 lots |
The 4 hour needs about one seventh of the lot size of the fast tickets to risk the same $50. And if you take the 30 minute and 1 hour together, remember their stops sit close to each other, so size them as one.
We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent. If you are worrying about every trade, your lot size is still too big.
Every Coin Gets Its Own Verdict
Put the board together.
Bitcoin’s daily turned up, so the panel stood aside and printed nothing, even with three fast charts pointing down. Ethereum’s daily stayed down, so the panel kept selling, and six targets were reached.
Two coins that usually move together, read separately, and treated separately.
The Direction Sniper BTC and ETH Edition puts this exact panel on your own Bitcoin and Ethereum charts:
- Direction. One verdict per coin, from its own 4 hour and daily. Today that is NO TRADE on Bitcoin and SELL on Ethereum, and you never have to borrow one from the other.
- Bounces that have not broken structure. When a coin’s big charts disagree, the panel stands aside instead of guessing.
- The stop loss. Every ticket arrives with its stop marked, and the trailing level shows when it has crossed in front of entry, like the Ethereum 15 minute today.

Bitcoin and Ethereum Price Forecast Today: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Bitcoin and Ethereum price forecast today, 24 October 2026?
The Direction Sniper panel reads NO TRADE on Bitcoin and SELL on Ethereum. Bitcoin’s daily has turned UP while its 4 hour points down, so the panel stands aside. Ethereum’s 4 hour and daily both point down.
Bitcoin was around 80,816 and Ethereum around 2378.6 at the time of writing.
Does Ethereum always follow Bitcoin?
Most of the time the two coins move together, but not always. On 24 October Bitcoin’s daily chart pointed UP while Ethereum’s still pointed DOWN, so the two coins had different verdicts.
Direction Sniper gives every coin its own verdict from its own 4 hour and daily, so one coin’s verdict is never borrowed for the other.
Why does Bitcoin read NO TRADE when its fast charts point down?
The verdict comes from the 4 hour and the daily. Bitcoin’s daily turned UP around two days ago while its 4 hour still points DOWN, and when those two disagree the verdict is NO TRADE.
Without a verdict there is nothing for the fast charts to line up with, so the panel prints no ticket, even though the 15 minute, 30 minute and 1 hour all read DOWN.
How many Ethereum targets were reached?
Six. The 15 minute sell from 2395.07 and the 30 minute and 1 hour sells from 2394.51 each reached two targets as Ethereum dipped to around 2351.
The 15 minute then closed at its trailing stop at 2387.24, which is 7.83 in front of its entry. Price reaching a published target level is not the same as a realised result.
Where is the Ethereum 4 hour ticket now?
The 4 hour sell from 2380.66 on 22 October started with 132.32 of risk. Its trailing level has tightened to 2417.46, removing about 72 percent of that risk, but it still sits 36.80 behind the entry.
Its targets are 2248.34, 2116.01 and 1983.69, and none had been reached at the time of writing. Direction Sniper calculates and shows the trailing level; the trader adjusts the order on the platform.
What would change the Bitcoin verdict?
If Bitcoin’s 4 hour turned UP to join the daily, the verdict would become BUY and the panel would look for buy tickets. If the daily turned back DOWN to join the 4 hour, the verdict would become SELL again.
Until one of those happens, the panel stands aside on Bitcoin.
How should you size a trade when only one coin has a verdict?
Only Ethereum has a verdict today, so there is one trade on the board and it gets one normal risk. Do not add a Bitcoin trade to balance it, and do not double the Ethereum trade.
On most brokers one lot of ETHUSD is one coin, so $50 of risk on a 19.52 stop is about 2.56 lots and on a 132.32 stop about 0.38 lots. We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent. These figures are arithmetic for illustration, not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade.
Disclaimer: This post reports what the Direction Sniper panel showed on Bitcoin and Ethereum on 24 October 2026. It is educational analysis, not financial advice and not a trade signal service. The Ethereum 30 minute, 1 hour and 4 hour tickets were still open at the time of writing. Price reaching a published target level is not the same as a realised result. High and low levels, and the timing of the Bitcoin daily turn, are approximate readings from the chart. Lot sizes are arithmetic for illustration, depend on your broker’s contract size, and are not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade. Cryptocurrency is highly volatile, trading carries risk, and you should only trade money you can afford to lose.
