Currency Strength Today, 5 November 2026: Yesterday’s GBPJPY Reached All Three Targets As The Yen Fell To Last. Here Is Why Every Read Has A 4 Hour Shelf Life

Currency strength today shows the yen at the very bottom of the board, alone, with the British pound still on top. Yesterday’s GBPJPY ticket rode that gap all the way: all three targets reached, 70 pips from the entry to Target 3. Here is the board at a glance, then the story behind it.

Stand in any airport and look up at the departures board.

It is the most trusted screen in the building. Thousands of people walk to their gate because of what it says. And yet everyone knows one thing about it: it changes. Every few minutes it refreshes. A gate moves. A flight is delayed. A “boarding” turns into “closed.”

Nobody thinks the board is wrong when that happens. They just know that what it showed at check in is not necessarily what it shows at boarding. So before they walk, they look again.

Our board works the same way. This read comes from the 08:00 close of the 4 hour chart, server time (06:00 GMT). The board refreshes at every 4 hour close, six times a day. What you see here is true for this 4 hour period, and it can change at the next close.

Keep that in mind, because yesterday the board showed us both sides of it. One pick flew all the way. One was delayed, then cancelled. And one closed exactly where it was planned to. By the end of section 1, you will see why all three are good news.

Direction Scanner, 5 November 2026

1. What Changed Since Yesterday: Three Picks, Three Different Flights

In yesterday’s currency strength read, our three pairs were EURCHF, NZDCAD and GBPJPY.

Yesterday’s ticket What happened
GBPJPY M15 BUY from 212.420 All 3 targets reached, up to 213.120, 70 pips from the entry
NZDCAD M15 SELL from 0.78167 Closed at its trailing stop, about 7.6 pips behind the entry instead of 16.3
EURCHF H1 SELL from 0.91610 Closed at its original stop, 33.7 pips behind the entry

GBPJPY: The Flight That Left On Time

GBPJPY M15 panel

Yesterday, GBPJPY was the pair with the biggest gap on the trending list, waiting for its faster charts to join. Its 15 minute buy printed at 07:00 at 212.420, with its stop at 212.187.

Then the yen kept falling. GBPJPY climbed to around 213.70, through all three targets:

  1. Target 1: 212.653, reached
  2. Target 2: 212.887, reached
  3. Target 3: 213.120, reached

That is 70 pips from the entry to Target 3, on a stop of 23.3 pips. Every one of those levels was on the panel before the move. That is what the 28 Pair Edition puts on your own charts.

And the departures board has already posted a new flight. After GBPJPY peaked around 213.77, it eased back to around 212.95, the pullback held, and a fresh 15 minute buy printed at 09:00 today at 213.142.

  1. Stop: 212.959, 18.3 pips below the entry
  2. Target 1: 213.325
  3. Target 2: 213.508
  4. Target 3: 213.691

GBPJPY is at 213.135, right at the entry. But the status reads Buy on M15, H4: the 30 minute and the 1 hour are still pointing down. So this is a gate that has opened, with half the passengers still in the lounge. The setup is complete when the 1 hour joins.

NZDCAD: Delayed, Then Cancelled, With A Smaller Cost

NZDCAD’s 15 minute sell from 0.78167 started with its stop 16.3 pips above the entry. By the time we published, the panel’s trailing stop had already moved down to 0.78243, so the fall from the entry was only 7.6 pips.

NZDCAD did not reach Target 1. It bounced, and the ticket closed at the trailing stop.

NZDCAD 15 minute At the original stop At the trailing stop
Distance behind the entry 16.3 pips about 7.6 pips
Cost on $50 of planned risk $50 about $23

The trailing stop cut the cost by more than half.

EURCHF: Closed Exactly Where It Was Planned

Yesterday’s Pick of the Day, the EURCHF 1 hour sell from 0.91610, did not get its trailing stop moving in time. EURCHF bounced to around 0.9200 on the afternoon of 4 November and reached the original stop at 0.91947, 33.7 pips behind the entry.

We publish this one as clearly as the winners. And here is why it is still a stop doing its job: at 0.5 percent risk, that ticket was sized so the stop would cost $50 and not a cent more. It cost $50. No surprise, no gap, no damage beyond the plan.

And the board did not give up on EURCHF. The 4 hour and the daily never turned, and the panel printed a fresh 1 hour sell that same evening. That is today’s Pick of the Day, in section 3.

The Table

Group Yesterday Today
Strongest GBP, then CHF and CAD GBP, then CAD and CHF
Middle USD and EUR AUD and EUR
Weakest NZD, then JPY and AUD JPY, then NZD and USD

The yen fell to last on its own, with the widest gap on the board. The New Zealand dollar recovered from last to 7th. And the US dollar slid back into the bottom three, a day after climbing out.

Yesterday’s CADJPY 4 hour ticket also finished this period: Target 1 reached, then it closed at its trailing stop 28.3 pips in front of the entry.

2. Every Read Has A 4 Hour Shelf Life

Here is the departures board idea in plain terms.

The Direction Scanner reads all 28 pairs at each 4 hour close. Today’s read is from the 08:00 close, server time (06:00 GMT). The next read is at 12:00 server time (10:00 GMT), then every 4 hours after that.

So everything in this post is true for this 4 hour period. A pair can move from waiting to ready. A ticket can close. A currency can climb or slide a place. That is not the board being wrong. It is the board doing its job.

What that means for you:

  1. Treat each read as a snapshot, not a promise. It tells you what the bigger charts agree on right now.
  2. Check the ticket before you act. The entry, stop and targets on the panel are what count, not what you read hours ago.
  3. Size for the stop you can see. The board can change. Your risk should not.

That is the reason the Direction Scanner exists. Checking 28 pairs on two timeframes, six times a day, by hand, is not realistic for anyone. The scanner does it at every close, so you always know which board you are looking at.

3. Today’s Three Pairs: Six Currencies, No Overlap

We only pick from the trending list, where the 4 hour and the daily agree, and each currency is used only once.

Pair Strong side Weak side Bigger charts agreed for Daily move used
EURCHF SELL CHF EUR 8 days about 36%
GBPUSD BUY GBP USD 6 days about 55%
AUDCAD SELL CAD AUD 6 days about 42%

Pick Of The Day: EURCHF, The Same Gate, A Fresh Boarding Pass

EURCHF H1 panel, SELL, Sell on M30, H1, H4

The fresh 1 hour sell printed at 21:00 on 4 November at 0.91663.

  1. Original stop: 0.91996, 33.3 pips above the entry
  2. Trailing stop now: 0.91761, only 9.8 pips above the entry
  3. Target 1: 0.91330
  4. Target 2: 0.90997
  5. Target 3: 0.90664

Look at the stop. The ticket started with 33.3 pips of room behind it. The panel’s trailing stop has already brought that down to 9.8 pips. That is the difference from yesterday’s EURCHF ticket, which never got its trailing stop moving before the bounce.

EURCHF is at 0.91694, about 3.1 pips above the entry. The status reads Sell on M30, H1, H4, with only the 15 minute still bouncing. For every EURCHF timeframe, read today’s EUR CHF forecast.

GBPUSD: Target 1 Already Reached, Stop In Front

GBPUSD M30 panel, BUY, Target 1 HIT

The strongest currency against one of the weakest. The 30 minute buy printed at 02:00 at 1.34769, and every timeframe now reads UP: Buy on M15, M30, H1, H4.

It has already reached Target 1 at 1.34901, and its trailing stop sits at 1.34834, 6.5 pips in front of the entry. Targets 2 and 3 are 1.35033 and 1.35165. GBPUSD is at 1.34945.

AUDCAD: Every Chart Pointing Down

AUDCAD H1 panel, SELL, Sell on M15, M30, H1, H4

The 1 hour sell printed at 08:00 at 0.97773, with its stop at 0.97962 and Target 1 at 0.97584. Every timeframe reads DOWN: Sell on M15, M30, H1, H4. AUDCAD is at 0.97858, about 8.5 pips above the entry, so the stop is 10.4 pips away and Target 1 is 27.4 pips away.

These are the pairs we are watching, not trade recommendations.

Why Not GBPJPY Again?

GBPJPY has the biggest gap on the trending list today, and as you saw in section 1, it has a fresh 15 minute buy. But it shares the pound with GBPUSD, so only one can play. GBPUSD has every timeframe pointing UP, with Target 1 already reached and its stop in front of the entry, while the new GBPJPY ticket is still waiting for its 30 minute and 1 hour. So GBPUSD gets the slot, and GBPJPY stays on our watch list. We explain why the widest gap is only the starting point in our guide to strong vs weak currency pairs.

4. News Watch: Bank of England At 12:00 GMT

The economic calendar lists the Bank of England interest rate decision at 12:00 GMT today. It lands directly on the pound, and on GBPUSD, our second pair. It also arrives in the middle of the next 4 hour period, so the board after that close may look quite different.

A rate decision can move the pound sharply in either direction for a few minutes. A stop inside that wobble can be reached even when the bigger trend does not change. Confirm the time on your own calendar before you act.

5. USD Check: No Read On Gold And Silver

The US dollar is back in the bottom three, 3rd weakest of 8.

Gold and silver are both rallying against a daily DOWN. Gold’s 4 hour has been against its daily for about a day, silver’s for about 20 hours. With the bigger charts disagreeing, neither metal is trending, and the scanner gives no read on gold and silver for this period. For the full picture, read today’s gold and silver price forecast.

6. Lesson Of The Day: The Board Changes. Your Risk Does Not.

Every ticket gets the same risk. We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, so on a $10,000 account that is $50, whatever the board shows next.

Here is today’s three, measured from where price is now:

  1. EURCHF, with the trailing stop 6.7 pips away: one pip on a standard lot is 10 Swiss francs, roughly $12.14, so $50 of risk is about 0.61 lots.
  2. AUDCAD, with the stop 10.4 pips away: one pip is 10 Canadian dollars, roughly $7.17, so $50 of risk is about 0.67 lots.
  3. GBPUSD, with the trailing stop 11.1 pips away: one pip is $10, so $50 of risk is about 0.45 lots.

Yesterday showed why this matters. Three tickets, three different endings: one reached all three targets, one closed at its trailing stop for about $23, and one closed at its full stop for exactly $50. The board changed through the day. The risk on every ticket stayed exactly where it was set.

That is the whole point. You cannot control which flight is delayed. You can control how much each one can cost you. Always round down, never up. Work out your own size in seconds with our free EURCHF Lot Size Calculator.

On a small account, a cent account makes the right sizes possible. For small balances we recommend a RoboForex Cent account or an XM Micro account. These are partner links, so we may receive a commission at no cost to you.

If you are worrying about every trade, your lot size is still too big.

Check The Board, Then Walk

Put this read together.

The yen fell to last, the pound still leads, and the dollar slid back into the bottom three. Yesterday’s GBPJPY flew all the way, three targets and 70 pips. NZDCAD closed at its trailing stop for less than half its planned cost. EURCHF closed at its full stop, for exactly the $50 it was sized for, and the panel has already printed a fresh sell with its trailing stop moving.

And all of it is true for this 4 hour period. At the next close, the board refreshes, and you look again.

That is Direction Sniper:

  • Direction. One verdict from the 4 hour and the daily, refreshed at every 4 hour close.
  • Rallies and bounces that have not broken structure. EURCHF bounced through yesterday’s stop. Its bigger charts never turned, and a fresh sell followed.
  • The stop loss. Every ticket arrives with its stop and three targets marked, and the trailing stop level shows you, at every close, how much you still have at risk.

The Direction Scanner shows you which pairs to watch at each close. The 28 Pair Edition gives you what the scanner alone does not: the entry, the stop and three targets on EURCHF, GBPUSD, AUDCAD and every other major, minor and cross, MT4 or MT5, on one licence.

See the 28 Pair Edition

The Direction Scanner is something we are building to manage and scan the 28 pairs ourselves. It is still in development, and we use it in public, with full transparency, wins and misses alike. Currency Strength Today: Frequently Asked Questions

Updated 5 November 2026, read at the 08:00 H4 close, server time. The board refreshes at every 4 hour close.

1What is the currency strength today, 5 November 2026?+

At the 08:00 H4 close, server time, the strongest currency is the British pound, then the Canadian dollar and the Swiss franc. The weakest is the Japanese yen, then the New Zealand dollar and the US dollar.

The yen fell to last on its own, and the US dollar slid back into the bottom three.

2How often does the currency strength board change?+

The Direction Scanner reads all 28 pairs at every 4 hour close, six times a day. This read is from the 08:00 close, server time (06:00 GMT), and the next is at 12:00 server time.

Everything in this read is true for this 4 hour period. Check the panel again before you act.

3Did yesterday’s GBPJPY reach its targets?+

Yes. The GBPJPY 15 minute BUY from 212.420 reached all three targets, up to 213.120, 70 pips from the entry on a 23.3 pip stop.

A target shown as reached describes the panel, not anyone’s trade.

4What happened to yesterday’s EURCHF pick?+

The EURCHF 1 hour sell from 0.91610 closed at its original stop at 0.91947, 33.7 pips behind the entry, when EURCHF bounced on 4 November. At 0.5 percent risk, it cost exactly the planned $50.

The 4 hour and the daily never turned, and the panel printed a fresh sell that evening.

5What is the best forex pair to trade today?+

Our Pick of the Day is EURCHF, with a SELL from 0.91663. Its original stop was 0.91996, and the panel’s trailing stop has already moved to 0.91761, 9.8 pips above the entry. Target 1 is 0.91330.

This is the pair we are watching, not a trade recommendation.

6Which forex pairs are trending best today?+

We only pick from pairs where the 4 hour and the daily agree, and each currency is used only once. For this read: EURCHF SELL, GBPUSD BUY and AUDCAD SELL.

GBPUSD has already reached Target 1 at 1.34901, with its trailing stop in front of the entry.

7Is there news today?+

The economic calendar lists the Bank of England interest rate decision at 12:00 GMT, which lands directly on the pound and on GBPUSD.

A rate decision can move a pair sharply for a few minutes, so confirm the time on your own calendar and size every trade for its stop.

8What lot size should I use today?+

We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, which is $50 on a $10,000 account. With the EURCHF trailing stop 6.7 pips away and one pip worth about $12.14 per standard lot, that is about 0.61 lots.

Use the EURCHF Lot Size Calculator to work out your own size. These figures are arithmetic for illustration, not a recommendation.
