Currency Strength Today, 29 October 2026: CAD And AUD Lead, EUR Lags.
Is EURAUD Still A Sell After Target 1?
This currency strength today read starts with a scorecard.
In yesterday’s currency strength read we published four live tickets, every one of them on the side of the strength ranking. Overnight, the CADCHF buy and the GBPCAD sell both reached Target 1, and both are still running.
Today the board is even cleaner. The Canadian dollar and the Australian dollar share the top spot, the euro is still the weakest, and all nine pairs that put a strong currency against a weak one point the same way as the ranking.
Below is what changed since yesterday, today’s ranking, the live tickets, the pair we are watching, what the US dollar is doing, and what gold and silver say.
1. What Changed Since Yesterday
The Ranking
| Group | 28 October | 29 October |
|---|---|---|
| Strongest | CAD, then AUD, then GBP | CAD and AUD level, then GBP |
| Weakest | EUR, then JPY and CHF | EUR, then JPY and NZD |
| Middle | USD and NZD | USD and CHF |
Two moves stand out. The Australian dollar has caught the Canadian dollar at the top, and the New Zealand dollar has dropped into the weak group, swapping places with the Swiss franc.
Yesterday’s Tickets, Checked
| Pair | Chart | Ticket | Entry | Status now |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CADCHF | H1 | BUY | 0.59094 | Target 1 reached, price 14.2 pips above entry |
| GBPCAD | H1 | SELL | 1.86710 | Target 1 reached, price 41.9 pips below entry |
| EURUSD | H4 | SELL | 1.12053 | Targets 1 and 2 reached, trailing stop now 41 pips in front of entry |
| EURCAD | M30 | SELL | 1.56285 | Closed at its stop, then a new sell reached Target 1 |

CADCHF reached Target 1 at 0.59224 and is now at 0.59236. The trailing stop level has moved up to 0.59067, just 2.7 pips behind the entry. Targets 2 and 3, at 0.59355 and 0.59485, are still open, and every timeframe still reads UP.

GBPCAD reached Target 1 at 1.86310 and has kept going to 1.86291. The trailing stop level has come down to 1.86845, 13.5 pips behind the entry. Target 2 at 1.85910 is the next level, and every timeframe still reads DOWN.

EURUSD has not reached Target 3 at 1.10931 yet. It bounced from around 1.1120 to 1.11469. The good news is in the stop: the trailing stop level has come down from 1.11964 to 1.11643, which now sits 41 pips in front of the entry. The 4 hour and the daily still read DOWN.

EURCAD is the one that did not go to plan. A sharp spike on 28 October reached yesterday’s 30 minute stop at 1.56453, so that ticket closed for a loss of 16.8 pips. But the 4 hour and the daily never turned. A new sell printed at 21:30 at 1.56225, and it has already reached Target 1 at 1.55938, with its trailing stop now 14.9 pips in front of the entry.
That is the whole lesson of the series in one pair. A stop is the cost of being early. The direction came from the bigger charts, and they were right.
2. Strongest And Weakest Currencies Today
| Group | Currencies |
|---|---|
| Strongest | CAD and AUD level, then GBP |
| Middle | USD and CHF |
| Weakest | EUR, then JPY and NZD level |
Pairing the three strongest with the three weakest gives nine pairs worth watching:
EURCAD, EURAUD, EURGBP, CADJPY, AUDJPY, GBPJPY, NZDCAD, AUDNZD and GBPNZD.
On the Direction Sniper board, every one of those nine points the way the ranking says it should, and six of them have a ticket ready right now. Not one pair fights the strength board.
A strength ranking tells you where to look. The panel tells you which way, where to enter and where the stop belongs.
3. The Live Tickets Today
| Pair | Chart | Direction | Entry | Stop | Targets | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EURAUD | H1 | SELL | 1.58099 (28 Oct 22:00) | 1.58339 trailing | 1.57817, 1.57535, 1.57253 | Target 1 reached |
| CADJPY | H1 | BUY | 112.517 (28 Oct 14:00) | 112.656 trailing | 112.881, 113.245, 113.609 | Target 1 reached |
| GBPNZD | H1 | BUY | 2.36991 (29 Oct 05:00) | 2.36469 | 2.37513, 2.38036, 2.38558 | Fresh, price at entry |
Two tickets on the ranking have already reached Target 1, and a fresh one has just printed.
4. Pick Of The Day: EURAUD

If you came here looking for the best forex pair to trade today, this is how we narrow it down. Our pick puts the strongest currency against the weakest: EURAUD.
On the 1 hour chart, EURAUD has fallen from around 1.6050 on 21 October to below 1.5800. Every rally on the way down has stopped below the one before it.
What makes EURAUD stand out today is that every timeframe on the panel agrees.
| Chart | Reads |
|---|---|
| M15 | DOWN |
| M30 | DOWN |
| H1 | DOWN |
| H4 | DOWN |
| Daily | DOWN |
The status line reads Sell on M15, M30, H1, H4.
The sell ticket printed on 28 October at 22:00 at 1.58099, with a risk of 28.2 pips. Target 1 at 1.57817 has been reached. Since then, price has drifted back up to 1.58066, just 3.3 pips below the entry.
- Trailing stop: 1.58339, 24 pips behind the entry
- Target 2: 1.57535
- Target 3: 1.57253
So is EURAUD still a sell after Target 1? The panel says the direction has not changed at all. What has changed is the room: Target 2 is 53.1 pips away, and the trailing stop is 27.3 pips above price. Section 7 shows how to check that before acting.
This is the pair we are watching most closely today, not a trade recommendation. For every EURAUD timeframe and the full plan, read today’s EUR AUD forecast.
5. CADJPY And GBPNZD: The Ranking On Two More Charts
CADJPY: Strongest Against Weakest, Target 1 Reached

On the 1 hour chart, CADJPY climbed from around 111.80 on 23 October to near 113.00 this morning.
The buy ticket printed on 28 October at 14:00 at 112.517, and Target 1 at 112.881 has been reached. CADJPY is now 112.775, 25.8 pips above the entry. The trailing stop level has moved up to 112.656, 13.9 pips in front of the entry. Target 2 at 113.245 and Target 3 at 113.609 are still open.
The 15 minute chart reads DOWN, a small pullback. The status line reads Buy on M30, H1, H4.
GBPNZD: A Fresh Ticket After A Big Move

GBPNZD shows the New Zealand dollar’s new weakness. On 27 October it jumped from around 2.3435 to above 2.3800 in a single hour. Since then, it has held most of that move instead of giving it back.
This morning at 05:00 a fresh buy ticket printed at 2.36991, with every timeframe reading UP. GBPNZD is at 2.36962, right at the entry.
- Stop: 2.36469, 52.2 pips below the entry
- Targets: 2.37513, 2.38036, 2.38558
After a jump like that, many traders assume it must come back. The panel reads the opposite: the move has not broken, and the bigger charts still point up.
6. US Dollar Today: MIXED
The US dollar is the world’s reserve currency, so every day we check whether it is leading the market or sitting out. We read all seven dollar pairs on the board, then check gold to see whether it agrees.
| Pair | Panel | What it says about the dollar |
|---|---|---|
| EURUSD | SELL | Stronger than the euro |
| USDCAD | SELL | Weaker than the Canadian dollar |
| AUDUSD | BUY | Weaker than the Australian dollar |
| GBPUSD, NZDUSD, USDJPY, USDCHF | Stand aside | No clear edge |
The dollar is stronger on one pair, weaker on two, with no edge on the other four. Gold and silver both read NO TRADE. Verdict: MIXED. The move today is about the Canadian dollar, the Australian dollar and the euro, not the dollar.
Risk Mood: MIXED. At the time of writing, the S&P 500 is down 0.42%, the Dow is up 0.19% and the US tech index is down 1.17%, while the yen sits on the weak side. The board and the stock market are not telling the same story today, a good reason to keep size small.
7. Gold Check: What Gold And Silver Say

On the 4 hour chart, gold dropped from around 4,140 on 21 October to below 4,000 on 23 October, then lifted back to around 4,038.

| Chart | Gold | Silver |
|---|---|---|
| M15 | UP | DOWN |
| M30 | UP | DOWN |
| H1 | UP | DOWN |
| H4 | UP | UP |
| Daily | DOWN | DOWN |
| Verdict | NO TRADE | NO TRADE |
Both metals read NO TRADE, because the 4 hour points up while the daily points down. That matches a dollar with no clear direction.
There is one interesting split. Gold’s fast charts all point up, while silver’s all point down, with silver around 53.17 and down about 1.5% on the day. The two metals usually move together. When they pull apart like this, the panel stands aside on both until the bigger charts agree.
Standing aside is a decision too, and on days like this it is the one that protects your account.
8. Before You Act: Check The Numbers, Then The Size
A live ticket is only useful if the numbers still make sense from where price is now. Check three things before anything else.
1. Where is price against the entry? GBPNZD is at its entry, so its plan is close to how it printed. EURAUD is also back near its entry, but its Target 1 is already reached.
2. How much room is left? On EURAUD, Target 2 is 53.1 pips away and the trailing stop is 27.3 pips away. On CADJPY, Target 2 is 47 pips away and the trailing stop is only 11.9 pips below price.
3. How old is it? The EURUSD ticket printed on 22 October. It has done most of its work, and Target 3 is 53.8 pips away while the trailing stop is 17.4 pips above. That is a ticket to manage, not one to start.
Then comes the size. Every ticket gets the same risk. We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, and that does not change because a board looks clean.
EURAUD is quoted in Australian dollars, so one pip on a standard lot is 10 Australian dollars, roughly $7 with AUDUSD near 0.70. Check the exact figure on your platform. From today’s price to the trailing stop is 27.3 pips, so $50 of risk is about 0.26 lots. To work out your own size in seconds, use our free EURAUD Lot Size Calculator.
On a small account, a cent account makes sizes like that possible. For small balances we recommend a RoboForex Cent account or an XM Micro account. These are partner links, so we may receive a commission at no cost to you.
If you are worrying about every trade, your lot size is still too big.
Published Yesterday, Checked Today
Put the two days together.
Yesterday we published four live tickets on the strength ranking. Overnight, CADCHF and GBPCAD reached Target 1 and are still running, EURUSD is still running with two targets reached, and the one that was stopped out, EURCAD, was replaced by a new ticket that has already reached Target 1. This morning, all nine strong against weak pairs point the same way as the ranking.
That is Direction Sniper:
- Direction. One verdict from the 4 hour and the daily. EURCAD’s bigger charts never turned, even when a spike reached the 30 minute stop.
- Rallies and bounces that have not broken structure. EURAUD drifted back to its entry after Target 1, and EURUSD bounced off its low. On both, every bigger chart still reads DOWN.
- The stop loss. Every ticket arrives with its stop and three targets marked, and the trailing stop level shows you when a ticket can no longer close at a loss.
The 28 Pair Edition puts this panel on every pair in today’s ranking, MT4 or MT5, on one licence, so you see these tickets the moment they print.

Currency Strength Today: Frequently Asked Questions
Updated 29 October 2026. Levels are as shown on the Direction Sniper panel at the time of writing.
1What is the currency strength today, 29 October 2026?+
The Canadian dollar and the Australian dollar are level as the strongest currencies on our board today, followed by the British pound. The euro is the weakest, with the Japanese yen and the New Zealand dollar level behind it.
The US dollar and the Swiss franc sit in the middle. This is a snapshot, not a forecast. Currency strength changes as the charts change.
2What changed in currency strength since 28 October 2026?+
The Australian dollar caught the Canadian dollar at the top, and the New Zealand dollar dropped into the weak group, swapping places with the Swiss franc.
The euro stayed the weakest currency on both days.
3How did yesterday’s currency strength tickets do?+
The CADCHF H1 BUY from 0.59094 and the GBPCAD H1 SELL from 1.86710 both reached Target 1 and are still running. The EURUSD H4 SELL is still running with two targets reached, and its trailing stop level now sits 41 pips in front of the entry.
The EURCAD M30 SELL from 1.56285 closed at its stop after a spike, then a new SELL from 1.56225 reached Target 1. Price reaching a published target level is not the same as a realised result.
4Is EURAUD still a sell after Target 1?+
The panel still reads SELL on every timeframe from M15 to the daily. The H1 ticket from 1.58099 reached Target 1 at 1.57817, and price has drifted back to 1.58066.
Target 2 at 1.57535 is 53.1 pips away and the trailing stop at 1.58339 is 27.3 pips away, so check the room before acting. This is the pair we are watching, not a trade recommendation.
5Which strong against weak pairs have live tickets today?+
All nine strong against weak pairs point the same way as the ranking, and six have a ticket ready: EURAUD, EURCAD and EURGBP to SELL, and CADJPY, AUDNZD and GBPNZD to BUY.
GBPNZD printed a fresh BUY at 2.36991 at 05:00 chart time, and CADJPY reached Target 1 at 112.881.
6Is the US dollar strong or weak today?+
MIXED. On the seven dollar pairs, the dollar is stronger than the euro, weaker than the Canadian and Australian dollars, and has no edge on the other four. Gold and silver both read NO TRADE.
The move today is about the Canadian dollar, the Australian dollar and the euro, not the dollar.
7Why do gold and silver both read NO TRADE today?+
On both metals the 4 hour points UP while the daily points DOWN, so the panel stands aside until they agree.
Gold’s fast charts all point UP while silver’s all point DOWN, a split that usually means waiting is the better decision.
8How much should I risk on EURAUD today?+
We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent. From today’s price to the trailing stop is 27.3 pips, and one EURAUD pip on a standard lot is about $7, so $50 of risk is about 0.26 lots.
Use the EURAUD Lot Size Calculator to work out your own size. These figures are arithmetic for illustration, not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade.

Disclaimer: This post reports what the Direction Sniper panel showed on EURAUD, CADJPY, GBPNZD, CADCHF, GBPCAD, EURCAD, EURUSD, XAUUSD and XAGUSD on 28 and 29 October 2026. The tickets were running at the time of writing, and prices will have moved by the time you read this. It is educational analysis, not financial advice and not a trade signal service, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell. Price reaching a published target level is not the same as a realised result. A target shown as reached means price touched that level on the chart, and does not describe anyone’s trade. High and low levels are approximate readings from the chart. Pip values and lot sizes are arithmetic for illustration, depend on the exchange rate, and are not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade. Forex trading carries risk, and you should only trade money you can afford to lose.
