Currency Strength Today, 6 November 2026: The Dollar Jumps From The Bottom Three To The Top Three. Why Only Two Pairs Make The Cut.

Currency strength today shows one of the biggest overnight swings on our board this month: the US dollar has jumped from the bottom three straight into the top three, and the yen has climbed from dead last to the middle. Yesterday’s GBPUSD reached Target 1 and closed in front of its entry, and the EURCHF trailing stop held its cost to less than a third of the plan. Here is the board at a glance, then the story behind it.

Quick Answer

NZDCAD SELL
✔ GBPUSD: Target 1 reached, closed 6.5 pips in front.
🛡 EURCHF: trailing stop held the cost to about $15 instead of $50.
AUDCAD: closed at its stop, then fell through all three targets.

Walk into an orchard at harvest time and you will notice something about the people who do it well.

They do not pick everything. They walk the rows, look at every tree, and only pick what is ripe. A good picker might pass forty trees and fill their basket from three. Not because the other trees are bad, but because their fruit is not ready yet.

Pick it early and it is sour. Pick it late and it has already dropped.

This read is that kind of day. The scanner walked all 28 pairs at the 04:00 close of the 4 hour chart, server time (02:00 GMT). Only seven are trending. Fifteen are on the avoid list. And after our one currency, one position check, only two pairs are ripe enough to pick.

But first, yesterday’s basket. One of yesterday’s three was ripe in the end, and fell from the tree just after we let go of it. By the end of section 1, you will see which one, and why it still belongs in the story.

Direction Scanner, 6 November 2026

1. What Changed Since Yesterday: Yesterday’s Basket

In yesterday’s currency strength read, our three pairs were EURCHF, GBPUSD and AUDCAD.

Yesterday’s ticket What happened
GBPUSD M30 BUY from 1.34769 Target 1 reached at 1.34901, then closed at its trailing stop 6.5 pips in front of the entry
EURCHF H1 SELL (Pick of the Day) from 0.91663 Closed at its trailing stop, about 9.7 pips behind the entry instead of 33.3
AUDCAD H1 SELL from 0.97773 Closed at its trailing stop, 18.3 pips behind the entry, then fell through all three target levels

GBPUSD: Picked Ripe

GBPUSD was the strongest currency against one of the weakest, with every timeframe pointing UP. It reached Target 1 at 1.34901, and when the pound eased back, the ticket closed at its trailing stop at 1.34834, 6.5 pips in front of its entry. A ticket that started with 13.2 pips of risk finished ahead.

EURCHF: The Handrail Held

Yesterday we said EURCHF’s trailing stop had already come down from 33.3 pips to 9.7 pips behind the entry, and called it a handrail. Around midday on 5 November, EURCHF bounced to about 0.9184, through that trailing stop.

EURCHF 1 hour At the original stop At the trailing stop
Distance behind the entry 33.3 pips about 9.7 pips
Cost on $50 of planned risk $50 about $15

The handrail did exactly what we said it would. And straight after, EURCHF dropped hard, to around 0.9138, and the panel printed a fresh sell. That is today’s Pick of the Day.

AUDCAD: The Fruit That Fell After We Let Go

This is the hard one, and we publish it plainly.

The AUDCAD 1 hour sell from 0.97773 started with its stop at 0.97962. AUDCAD bounced first, and the ticket closed at its trailing stop at 0.97956, 18.3 pips behind the entry, before the trailing stop had moved much. That is close to the full planned cost.

Then AUDCAD fell, hard: down to around 0.9697, about 80 pips below the entry, through all three target levels.

So the direction was right. The fruit was ripe. It just dropped after we had let go of the branch. That is the price of being right about the direction and early on the timing, and it happens to every trader on every method. It is also the reason we size every ticket so that its stop costs exactly what we planned, and not a cent more. It did.

GBPJPY And Gold

GBPJPY, on our watch list, reached its first target before reversing lower, and the panel now stands aside on it.

And gold, where the panel said NO TRADE yesterday after a 270 point rally? It has since fallen from around 4,145 back to around 4,050. Anyone who chased that rally near the top is now well behind. Standing aside was the ripe decision.

The Table

Group Yesterday Today
Strongest GBP, then CAD and CHF CHF, then GBP and USD
Middle AUD and EUR JPY and CAD
Weakest JPY, then NZD and USD NZD and AUD, then EUR

Three big moves. The US dollar jumped from 3rd weakest to 3rd strongest. The yen climbed from dead last to 4th. And the Australian dollar fell into the bottom three.

2. Every Read Has A 4 Hour Shelf Life

This read is from the 04:00 H4 close, server time (02:00 GMT). The scanner reads all 28 pairs at every 4 hour close, six times a day, so the board can look different by the next close.

Today it shows a choppy market. Only 7 pairs are trending, meaning the 4 hour and the daily agree. Six are in dips and rallies, where they disagree. And 15 are on the avoid list, because their daily charts have changed direction too often in the last 20 days. That is more than half the board.

A board like this is the orchard with only a few ripe trees. The job is not to find more fruit. It is to pick only what is ready.

3. Today’s Pairs: Only Two Make The Cut

We only pick from the trending list, and each currency is used only once.

Pair Strong side Weak side Bigger charts agreed for Daily move used
EURCHF SELL CHF EUR 9 days about 53%
NZDCAD SELL CAD NZD 9 days about 49%

Why Only Two?

After EURCHF and NZDCAD, the currencies left are GBP, USD, AUD and JPY. None of the pairs between them is on the trending list right now. GBPUSD is in dips and rallies. USDJPY, AUDJPY and AUDUSD are all on the avoid list.

So there is no third pair. We could force one. We will not. An unripe pick does not become ripe because the basket has room in it.

EURUSD deserves a mention. It is new on the trending list today, a sell with the dollar now strong and the euro weak, and its ticket is ready. But it shares the euro with EURCHF, so only one can play, and EURCHF has been aligned for 9 days to EURUSD’s few hours.

Pick Of The Day: EURCHF, The Third Step Down

EURCHF H1 panel, SELL, Sell on M15, M30, H1, H4

For the third day running, EURCHF is the pick, and this time every chart agrees. The status reads Sell on M15, M30, H1, H4.

The fresh 1 hour sell printed at 17:00 on 5 November at 0.91475, right after yesterday’s drop.

  1. Original stop: 0.91819, 34.4 pips above the entry
  2. Trailing stop now: 0.91694, 21.9 pips above the entry
  3. Target 1: 0.91131
  4. Target 2: 0.90788
  5. Target 3: 0.90444

The handrail is already moving. The most this ticket can cost, if the stop is moved to the panel’s level, has fallen from $50 to about $32. EURCHF is at 0.91503, just 2.8 pips above the entry. For every EURCHF timeframe, read today’s EUR CHF forecast.

NZDCAD: Target 1 Already Reached

NZDCAD H1 panel, SELL, Target 1 HIT

The weakest currency on the board against a currency that has held up all week. The 1 hour sell printed at 18:00 on 5 November at 0.78513 and has already reached Target 1 at 0.78223.

Its trailing stop sits at 0.78541, just 2.8 pips above the entry, down from an original 29 pips. Targets 2 and 3 are 0.77934 and 0.77644. NZDCAD is at 0.78132, and every timeframe reads DOWN.

These are the pairs we are watching, not trade recommendations.

4. News Watch: Jobs Day

The economic calendar lists Canada’s employment report at 13:30 GMT today, which lands directly on the Canadian dollar side of NZDCAD. The first Friday of the month is usually US jobs day as well, at the same time. Both can move currencies sharply for a few minutes.

Release times can change, so confirm them on your own calendar before you act.

5. USD Check: No Read On Gold And Silver

The US dollar is now 3rd strongest of 8, after its jump from the bottom three.

Gold and silver are both still rallying against a daily DOWN, for close to two days now, so neither metal is trending and the scanner gives no read. Gold has already given back part of its rally, from around 4,145 to around 4,050. For the full picture, read today’s gold and silver price forecast.

6. Lesson Of The Day: Two Ripe Picks, Sized Right

Every ticket gets the same risk. We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, so on a $10,000 account that is $50.

Here are today’s two, measured from where price is now:

  1. EURCHF, with the trailing stop 19.1 pips away: one pip on a standard lot is 10 Swiss francs, roughly $12.24, so $50 of risk is about 0.21 lots.
  2. NZDCAD, with the trailing stop 40.9 pips away: one pip is 10 Canadian dollars, roughly $7.17, so $50 of risk is about 0.17 lots.

Two picks at 0.5 percent is $100 of total risk. A day with four forced picks would be $200, with two of them unripe. The best risk management on a choppy board is not a clever stop. It is fewer, better trades.

And yesterday’s AUDCAD is the reason size comes before everything. A ticket can be right about the direction and still close at its stop. When it does, the cost should be exactly what you planned. Always round down, never up. Work out your own size in seconds with our free EURCHF Lot Size Calculator.

On a small account, a cent account makes the right sizes possible. For small balances we recommend a RoboForex Cent account or an XM Micro account. These are partner links, so we may receive a commission at no cost to you.

If you are worrying about every trade, your lot size is still too big.

Pick What Is Ripe

Put this read together.

The dollar jumped from the bottom three to the top three, the yen climbed out of last place, and the Australian dollar fell into the bottom. Only seven pairs are trending, and only two pass our checks: EURCHF and NZDCAD.

Yesterday’s basket held one ripe pick in GBPUSD, one handrail that held on EURCHF, and one fruit that fell just after we let go, on AUDCAD. And on gold, the decision to stand aside looks wiser by the day.

That is Direction Sniper:

  • Direction. One verdict from the 4 hour and the daily, refreshed at every 4 hour close.
  • Rallies and bounces that have not broken structure. EURCHF bounced through yesterday’s trailing stop. Its bigger charts never turned, and a fresh sell followed.
  • The stop loss. Every ticket arrives with its stop and three targets marked, and the trailing stop level shows you how much is still at risk.

The Direction Scanner shows you which trees are ripe at each close. The 28 Pair Edition gives you what the scanner alone does not: the entry, the stop and three targets on EURCHF, NZDCAD and every other major, minor and cross, MT4 or MT5, on one licence.

Currency Strength Today: Frequently Asked Questions

Updated 6 November 2026, read at the 04:00 H4 close, server time. The board refreshes at every 4 hour close.

1What is the currency strength today, 6 November 2026?+

At the 04:00 H4 close, server time, the strongest currency is the Swiss franc, then the British pound and the US dollar. The weakest are the New Zealand dollar and the Australian dollar, then the euro.

The US dollar jumped from the bottom three to the top three, and the yen climbed from last place to the middle.

2Why are there only two pairs today?+

We only pick from pairs where the 4 hour and the daily agree, and each currency is used only once. After EURCHF and NZDCAD, no trending pair is left between GBP, USD, AUD and JPY.

Only 7 pairs are trending and 15 are on the avoid list, so we pick what is ready rather than forcing a third pair.

3What is the best forex pair to trade today?+

Our Pick of the Day is EURCHF, with a SELL from 0.91475 and every timeframe reading DOWN. Its trailing stop has already moved from 0.91819 to 0.91694. Target 1 is 0.91131.

This is the pair we are watching, not a trade recommendation.

4Did yesterday’s picks reach their targets?+

GBPUSD reached Target 1 at 1.34901 and closed at its trailing stop 6.5 pips in front of the entry. The EURCHF pick closed at its trailing stop about 9.7 pips behind the entry, around $15 instead of $50.

AUDCAD closed at its trailing stop 18.3 pips behind the entry, then fell through all three target levels.

5Why did AUDCAD close before it fell?+

AUDCAD bounced before it fell, and the bounce reached the trailing stop before it had moved far from the original stop. The direction was right, but the timing was early.

At 0.5 percent risk, the ticket cost close to its planned $50, exactly as sized.

6Is NZDCAD still a sell?+

Yes. The NZDCAD 1 hour SELL from 0.78513 has reached Target 1 at 0.78223, and its trailing stop is 0.78541, only 2.8 pips above the entry.

Every NZDCAD timeframe reads DOWN. Targets 2 and 3 are 0.77934 and 0.77644.

7Is there news today?+

The economic calendar lists Canada’s employment report at 13:30 GMT, which lands on the Canadian dollar side of NZDCAD. The first Friday of the month is usually US jobs day too.

Confirm the times on your own calendar and size every trade for its stop.

8What lot size should I use today?+

We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, which is $50 on a $10,000 account. With the EURCHF trailing stop 19.1 pips away and one pip worth about $12.24, that is about 0.21 lots.

Use the EURCHF Lot Size Calculator to work out your own size. These figures are arithmetic for illustration, not a recommendation.
