Gold and Silver Price Forecast Today, 6 November 2026: A Trader Asked Us “Is It Only Sell Tickets?”

Gold and Silver Price Forecast Today, 6 November 2026: A Trader Asked Us “Is It Only Sell Tickets?” Here Is The Answer, And What A Day Of Standing Aside Saved

This gold and silver price forecast today starts with a day of patience that paid. Yesterday, gold had rallied about 270 points and the Direction Sniper panel said NO TRADE. Since then, gold has given back about 100 points, from around 4,145 to around 4,045. Anyone who chased the top is now behind. Anyone who stood aside has lost nothing. And this week, a trader asked us a question that explains exactly why. Here is the picture at a glance, then his question and our answer.

The message arrived on Wednesday, short and a little puzzled: “Is it only sell tickets?”

It is a fair question. For weeks, every gold ticket in these posts had pointed down. And then, the very next day, gold rallied 270 points, and the panel still did not buy. If you were him, you would be wondering too.

We will answer him properly in a moment. But first, look at what the market did while he waited.

Yesterday, we compared gold to someone running up a down escalator.

For a few steps, the runner climbs faster than the stairs move. It looks like winning. But the escalator never stops, and the moment the runner slows down, it carries them back.

Overnight, the runner slowed down. Gold peaked around 4,145, close to the line its daily downtrend has respected since August, and turned back. The escalator did what escalators do.

This read is from the 04:00 H4 close, server time (02:00 GMT). The board refreshes at every 4 hour close.

XAUUSD H4 panel, NO TRADE, stand aside

1. A Trader’s Question: “Is It Only Sell Tickets?”

Back to that message. The trader who sent it follows our gold reads, and we are sharing his question, without his name, because we suspect many readers have wondered the same thing.

He had noticed that for weeks, every gold and silver ticket in our posts had been a sell. So he asked: is it only sell tickets?

The short answer is no. Direction Sniper gives both BUY and SELL tickets.

The longer answer is the whole lesson of this week. The panel only shows tickets in the direction of the Sniper Direction, and the Sniper Direction needs two charts to agree: the 4 hour and the daily. For the past few weeks, both have pointed DOWN on gold and silver. So the only tickets the panel could print were sells.

When they disagree, as they do right now, it prints nothing at all.

2. Gold Price Forecast Today: What Happened After We Stood Aside

XAUUSD H4 panel, NO TRADE, stand aside

Here is the week on the 4 hour chart, in three steps.

The rally. From around 3,875 on 30 October, gold climbed to around 4,145 by 5 November. About 270 points, with big green candles one after another. On the 4 hour chart, it looked like a new uptrend.

The verdict. The 4 hour turned UP. The daily stayed DOWN. The two charts that decide direction disagreed, so the panel read NO TRADE, Stand aside. Not BUY. Not SELL. Nothing.

The pullback. Overnight, gold turned back, to around 4,045. That is roughly 100 points given back from the high. And today, the faster charts have turned with it: the 15 minute, 30 minute and 1 hour all read DOWN.

Chased the rally near 4,145 Stood aside with the panel
Where it stands now About 100 points behind Nothing at risk, nothing lost
On 0.01 lots About $100 behind $0

That is what NO TRADE is for. It kept traders out of a rally the daily had not confirmed, and the same caution kept them out of the pullback that followed.

3. Gold Daily Chart: Why The Rally Stopped Where It Did

XAUUSD Daily panel, NO TRADE

Open the daily chart and the reason becomes clear.

Gold has been in a downtrend since peaking around 4,690 in late August. Every rally since has stopped lower than the one before. The panel’s daily trailing line, the level that downtrend has respected, has been coming down too, and this week it sat around 4,140 to 4,175, read from the chart.

This week’s rally ran straight up toward that line, peaked around 4,145, and turned back. On the 4 hour chart, it looked like a breakout. On the daily, it was a bounce that reached the ceiling and stopped.

A rally is not a trend. A trend is when the bigger chart turns. Until then, a rally is just a rally.

4. Silver Price Forecast Today: The Same Story

XAGUSD H4 panel, NO TRADE

Silver followed the same path. It rallied from around 49 to around 53.40 on the 4 hour chart, and has pulled back to around 51.50.

On the daily, silver has been falling since around 77 in early June, and its daily trailing line sits up around 56, read from the chart. The 4 hour is UP, the daily is DOWN, and the panel reads NO TRADE, Stand aside, just like gold.

5. The Order Of Operations: Direction, Then Mode, Then Entry

Here is the part of our answer to the trader that matters most, because it applies to every chart, every day.

Think of a door with three locks. It only opens when all three turn, in order.

Lock 1: Direction. The 4 hour and the daily must agree. If they disagree, the panel reads NO TRADE, and nothing else matters. That is where gold and silver are today.

Lock 2: Mode. Once they agree, the panel is in BUY mode or SELL mode. If gold keeps climbing and the daily turns UP to join the 4 hour, the verdict switches to BUY.

Lock 3: Entry. BUY mode does not mean buy straight away. It means the panel is waiting for the right entry: one of the faster charts, the 15 minute, 30 minute or 1 hour, turning back UP in line with the verdict. When it does, a fresh ticket prints, with its entry, stop and three targets.

Right now, gold is stuck at lock 1. And even if it got past it, lock 3 would still be closed, because the entry charts are pointing DOWN with the pullback.

That is why the panel has not shown a buy. Not because it only sells, but because no buy has made it through all three locks yet.

6. “Patience Is The Key”

The trader’s reply to all of this was five words we think every reader should keep: “Patience is the key. I’m following the daily and the H4.”

We added one thing. Missing a trade is perfectly okay.

Think of it like missing a bus. It feels bad for a minute, watching it pull away. But another one is always coming. The expensive mistake is getting on the wrong bus, because it takes you somewhere you did not want to go, and you pay to get back.

The rally that got away this week is the bus that left. Another setup will come, on gold or on another market, with all three locks open. Money lost on a trade taken too early is much harder to get back than a missed bus.

That is the real job of NO TRADE. It is not a gap in the panel. It is a decision.

We explain how the 4 hour and the daily work together in our guide to multi timeframe analysis for gold.

7. What Would Change The Gold And Silver Forecast

BUY mode arrives if the daily turns UP to join the 4 hour. Then the panel waits for an entry chart to turn back UP before printing a buy ticket.

SELL returns if the 4 hour turns back DOWN to join the daily. With the entry charts already pointing down, a fresh sell could follow quickly, with its stop above this week’s rally high.

Until one of those happens, the answer on both metals is NO TRADE.

Levels to watch, read from the chart:

  1. Gold: this week’s high around 4,145, close to the daily trailing line
  2. Gold: the 3 November dip around 3,895
  3. Silver: this week’s high around 53.40, and the daily trailing line around 56

8. What This Means For The US Dollar

In today’s Currency Strength Today read, the US dollar jumped from the bottom three into the top three. A firmer dollar fits with gold and silver pulling back from their rally. Today’s jobs data from Canada at 13:30 GMT, and usually from the US on the first Friday of the month, can move the dollar and the metals for a few minutes. Confirm the times on your own calendar.

9. The Best Lot Size Is Still Zero

We risk at most 2 percent per trade, usually 0.5 percent, so on a $10,000 account that is $50.

But with no ticket on gold or silver, the right amount at risk on either metal today is nothing. Not trading is a position too, and this week it was the one that cost nothing while a 100 point pullback played out.

When the next ticket prints, buy or sell, size it from its stop, not from how big the last move was. Here is how to calculate lot size for gold from any stop, or work it out in seconds with our free Gold and Silver Lot Size Calculator.

On a small account, a cent account makes the right sizes possible. For small balances we recommend a RoboForex Cent account or an XM Micro account. These are partner links, so we may receive a commission at no cost to you.

If you are worrying about every trade, your lot size is still too big.

Three Locks, One Answer

Put the week together.

Gold rallied about 270 points. The 4 hour turned UP, the daily stayed DOWN, and the panel said NO TRADE. Then gold gave back about 100 points, after peaking close to the daily line that has capped every rally since August. Silver did the same. Nobody who followed the panel was caught at the top.

And when a trader asked whether the panel only sells, the answer turned out to be the lesson of the week: direction first, then mode, then entry. A buy will print the day all three locks open. Until then, patience is the trade.

That is Direction Sniper:

  • Direction. One verdict from the 4 hour and the daily. When they disagree, it stands aside instead of guessing.
  • Rallies and bounces that have not broken structure. A 270 point rally turned the 4 hour. It never turned the daily.
  • The stop loss. Every ticket, buy or sell, arrives with its stop and three targets marked, once all three locks are open.

The Direction Sniper Gold and Silver Edition puts this panel on XAUUSD and XAGUSD, on MT4 or MT5, so you can see all three locks at a glance instead of guessing from one chart.

Gold and Silver Price Forecast Today: Frequently Asked Questions

Updated 6 November 2026, read at the 04:00 H4 close, server time. Levels are approximate readings from the chart.

1What is the gold and silver price forecast today, 6 November 2026?+

Both gold and silver read NO TRADE on the Direction Sniper panel. The 4 hour is still UP while the daily points DOWN, and the faster entry charts have turned DOWN with the pullback.

Gold has given back about 100 points from its rally high, from around 4,145 to around 4,045.

2Does Direction Sniper only give sell tickets?+

No. Direction Sniper gives both BUY and SELL tickets. It only shows tickets in the direction of the Sniper Direction, which needs the 4 hour and the daily to agree.

For the past few weeks, both pointed DOWN on gold and silver, so only sells appeared.

3Why was there no buy during the gold rally?+

Because the daily never turned UP. The rally turned the 4 hour UP, but the daily stayed DOWN, so the panel read NO TRADE and stood aside.

The rally then peaked close to the daily trailing line and gave back about 100 points.

4What did standing aside save?+

Anyone who chased the rally near 4,145 is about 100 points behind, roughly $100 on 0.01 lots. Anyone who stood aside with the panel has nothing at risk and has lost nothing.

These figures are arithmetic for illustration, not a description of anyone’s trade.

5When will the panel show a buy on gold?+

When the daily turns UP to join the 4 hour, the panel switches to BUY mode. It then waits for an entry chart, the 15 minute, 30 minute or 1 hour, to turn back UP before printing a buy ticket.

BUY mode does not mean buy straight away.

6What is the order of operations on the panel?+

Direction first: the 4 hour and the daily must agree. Then mode: BUY or SELL. Then entry: a fresh ticket on an entry timeframe.

Think of a door with three locks that only opens when all three turn, in order.

7Is silver in the same position as gold?+

Yes. Silver rallied from around 49 to around 53.40, has pulled back to around 51.50, and reads NO TRADE with its 4 hour UP and its daily DOWN.

Its daily trailing line sits around 56, read from the chart.

8What lot size should I use on gold today?+

With no ticket on gold or silver, the right amount at risk today is zero. Not trading is a position too.

When the next ticket prints, size it from its stop with the Gold and Silver Lot Size Calculator. This is not a recommendation about how much anyone should trade.
